we had a fantastic time at our recent stay in hastings, and Smugglers Cottage truly exceeded our expectations. the cottage was beautifully presented, with clean and comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and a quirky decor that we loved. the location was perfect for exploring Hastings' old town and enjoying the promenade views. our host Adriana was extremely helpful and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. it was a memorable experience.
One minor issue was the difficulty in finding the cottage due to its location.

Stayed at an 18th-century beachfront cottage with a lovely patio and free WiFi. Had a great time exploring the area and enjoying the sun terrace.
Loved struggling with the ancient stairs and feeling like a mountain climber. So fun!

The bathroom was awesome, with both a shower and a bath. It made getting ready for a night out with my pals so much easier. I loved having the option to take a long, relaxing soak or a quick refreshing shower. It was just what I needed after a day of partying!
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the design of the bathroom. But hey, that's just me.

The bathroom at Smugglers Cottage was great! It had both a shower and a bath, so you could choose how to wash off the day's adventures. As someone who loves a good soak, I was in absolute heaven!
Personally, I found the bathroom a bit small, but hey, that's just me. Others might still enjoy it.

the cottage was a perfect getaway for my birthday celebration. The location was ideal, just a short walk to the old town and the beach. The host, Adriana, was incredibly helpful and provided great recommendations for places to eat. The cottage itself was charming and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Noise from the road was a bit bothersome.

The value for money at this lovely cottage was fantastic. The room was clean, well-presented, and incredibly relaxing. The location was perfect, with amenities and the charming old town just a stone's throw away. The staff treated us wonderfully, making us feel at home.
The only improvement I would suggest for breakfast items is to offer a wider variety of options.

The location was absolutely stunning, with amazing views and beach access. The cottage itself was quirky and charming, with a comfortable bed and a beautiful bathroom. The owners had thought of everything, including mini wines and delicious local bakery biscuits as a welcoming touch. The place was spotlessly clean and felt like our own little haven. The central heating kept us warm and cozy, and the extra heaters provided ensured that every room was comfortable. The cottage was also conveniently located near a pub, where we had a warm welcome and enjoyed great food. We loved the added bonus of a basement game room with a fun kicker table. Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful, answering any questions we had. We had an incredible stay and will definitely be coming back!

The location couldn't have been better, right in the heart of the charming old town. It was so convenient to be just a few minutes away from all the eateries, cafeterias, and vintage shops. Plus, being within walking distance of the castle and the beach viewpoint was a major bonus. the host was also very helpful and provided great recommendations for local places to eat and park. And let's not forget about the beds - they were incredibly comfortable, I even considered buying the mattress for myself!
I have to mention the stairs. They were quite steep and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with knee problems.

I recently stayed at a charming historic cottage in Hastings. The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The central heating kept the cottage warm, and the bath/shower and two toilets were convenient. It was also spotlessly clean and well-equipped, with thoughtful welcoming gestures like wine, chocolates, and tea/coffee supplies. The views of the sea from the top floor bedroom were amazing, and the galley-style kitchen was neat and well-equipped. The basement had additional amenities like a fridge-freezer, washing machine, and an ironing board, along with a fun football machine. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The location was perfect, with easy access to all amenities and a charming street nearby.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.
